Musical milestone … Temple Beth Israel’s (TBI) long-serving organist Joe Stupel recently notched up an incredible 5000 services. Stupel began his organ-playing career at Bentleigh Temple (Bentleigh Progressive Synagogue) in 1960, after Rabbi John Levi spotted him playing at an organ demonstration at Allans Music. Stupel and his wife Eva were recently made honorary life members of TBI.
